Verification and Validation Report: Issues #10, #56, #91, #96

Repository: terraphim/terraphim-ai Date: 2026-03-11

Issue #10: Update firecracker vm deployment

Status: NOT IMPLEMENTED / NEEDS CLARIFICATION

Findings

Firecracker code exists: terraphim_firecracker/ binary crate with VM management

Current capabilities:

  • Sub-2 second VM boot optimization system
  • VM pool management with prewarming
  • Commands: start, test, benchmark, init-pool

No deployment automation found:

  • No Kubernetes manifests
  • No Docker deployment configs
  • No cloud deployment scripts
  • No CI/CD integration for VM deployment

Assessment: The firecracker binary exists and functions, but deployment automation (how to deploy this to a server/cloud) is not implemented.

GO/NO-GO: NO-GO

Next steps: Needs clarification on deployment target (AWS, self-hosted, etc.)

Issue #56: Cross compilation fails with async_trait

Status: RESOLVED

Findings

Original issue: Cross-compilation with cargo-zigbuild failed because async trait methods were not using async-trait crate.

Current state: All async trait methods now use async-trait:

// crates/terraphim_middleware/src/haystack/mcp.rs:12
#[async_trait::async_trait]

// crates/terraphim_middleware/src/haystack/clickup.rs:75
#[async_trait]

// crates/terraphim_middleware/src/haystack/perplexity.rs:481
#[async_trait]

// crates/terraphim_middleware/src/haystack/query_rs.rs:105
#[async_trait]

Dependencies in Cargo.toml:

# crates/terraphim_middleware/Cargo.toml
async-trait = { workspace = true }

Assessment: The issue has been resolved. The codebase now consistently uses async-trait for async trait methods.

GO/NO-GO: RESOLVED

Issue #91: Tauri signing and publishing pipeline

Status: MOVED TO SEPARATE REPOSITORY

Findings

Desktop moved: Tauri desktop app is now in separate repository terraphim-ai-desktop

Evidence from CI workflow (.github/workflows/publish-tauri.yml):

# DEPRECATED: This workflow has been moved to terraphim-ai-desktop repository
# The Tauri desktop app is now built and published from the separate terraphim-ai-desktop repo
# See: https://github.com/terraphim/terraphim-ai-desktop

Local desktop directory: Frontend code exists (desktop/src/) but Tauri crate (src-tauri/) removed

Assessment: Issue is now tracked in terraphim-ai-desktop repository, not this one.

GO/NO-GO: MOVED (Close this issue with reference to new repo)

Issue #96: Add autostart to Tauri desktop app

Status: MOVED TO SEPARATE REPOSITORY

Findings

Same as #91: Tauri/desktop app moved to terraphim-ai-desktop repository

No autostart in current desktop: The desktop/ directory now contains only the web frontend (Svelte), no Tauri code.

Assessment: Feature request should be reopened in terraphim-ai-desktop repository if still needed.

GO/NO-GO: MOVED (Close this issue with reference to new repo)

Summary

| Issue | Title | Status | Decision | |-------|-------|--------|----------| | #10 | Firecracker VM deployment | Partial | NO-GO (needs deployment specs) | | #56 | Cross-compile async_trait | RESOLVED | CLOSE | | #91 | Tauri signing pipeline | MOVED | CLOSE (link to new repo) | | #96 | Tauri autostart | MOVED | CLOSE (link to new repo) |

Recommendations

  1. Issue #10: Request clarification on deployment requirements (target platform, orchestration, etc.)
  2. Issue #56: Close as resolved
  3. Issues #91, #96: Close with note that Tauri code moved to terraphim-ai-desktop repository
